Article: See Yourself The Way God Sees You

See Yourself The Way God Sees You

Many of us find ourselves basing our self-worth on how others see us and on our accomplishments, feeling shame from our past, defining our value based on our looks, and setting unrealistic standards for ourselves.

But it doesn't have to be this way!

How can we see ourselves the way God sees us?

Our identity is found in Jesus Christ.

Our identity – a child of God and a joint-heir with Jesus Christ. Our spiritual inheritance – forgiveness, an intimate relationship with Jesus, and the hope of spending all eternity enjoying fellowship with God. Our identity is grounded in what Jesus has already accomplished for us on the cross. It is and will never be based on our efforts.

God's grace is a gift.

Through His grace, He heals us and brings us the freedom to live a new life. But we need to humble ourselves to accept God's grace and extend grace to ourselves when we don't measure up, knowing that He already sees us as the perfect reflections of Christ. Once we extend the grace to ourselves, we will then be able to extend the grace to those around us!

When we start to see ourselves the way God sees us, it will change our entire perspective on life.

Child of God, accept the gifts He has given you. Start living your life knowing you are a child of God – fearfully, mightily and wonderfully made and loved. Refuse to listen to the wrong voices, lean in, and cling onto HIS VOICE.
