Article: Whom Are You Serving?

Whom Are You Serving?

"...Choose today whom you will serve.....as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord."
– Joshua 24:15

We all serve someone or something in one way or another. Whom are you serving? Here in Joshua 24:15, Joshua is talking to us about the importance of serving God and making Him the priority of our lives.

As we go about our daily lives, there will be a time where we have to choose who or what will control us.

It is easy to fall into our fallen nature and go about our lives in our ways, especially if our circumstances are not as ideal as we had hoped, or when the outcomes are not the way we wanted.

The choice is ours.

When we accepted Jesus into our lives and our hearts, we have chosen to be led by God's Spirit.

That is a choice we get to choose and reaffirm every single day, in every circumstance and every decision that we make.

We get to choose to serve God, to obey God, to choose Him.

We were placed on earth to contribute.

We are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

You are important to God and what you do in His name and for His glory matters to Him and His Kingdom.

“You are the only Bible some unbelievers will ever read.”
– John MacArthur

The way we live our lives, and the way we react to our circumstances show others the strength that comes with the commitment to serving God.

"But I don't know how to..."

"I don't know what to do..."

"But how?"

These questions are normal!

God will show you, walk with you, and speak to you if you listen, ask and keep petitioning to Him! Start seeking a relationship with God through the Word, and He will reveal Himself to you.

Ask yourself today...

Do you serve God, or do you just work for money?

Do you aim for success, or do you aim for spiritual growth?

Do you have an earthly or eternal goal in mind?

Whom are you serving?

Where are your eyes fixated on?
