Article: 5 Ways To Live Your Faith

5 Ways To Live Your Faith

Living out our faith is possible because of what Christ did for us on the cross. There are many ways to "live out our faith" every day, and we just wanted to share five today ◡̈ Read on!

1. Radiate Positivity

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.
– Proverbs 17:22

Living out our faith can be as simple as having a positive attitude. There is always going to be something that goes wrong or doesn't go as planned, but we have the freedom to choose how we react to it, and we can choose to react by glorifying God with our positive attitude.

2. Be A Friend

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
– Philippians 2:3

Being a good listener and attentive friend to those around you expresses Christ's love through you, shows others that you care and that they're important to you. Choose to be intentional with your relationships – be authentic and inclusive, treat others how Jesus treated others.

3. Use Your Gifts

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
– 1 Peter 4:10-11

Our Lord has blessed each of us with unique gifts that we can use to further His Kingdom. We each have abilities and talents that serve and propel the body of Christ differently. How do you put one of those gifts into practice to glorify God?

4. Be Grateful

Give thanks in everything; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
– 1 Thessalonians 5:18

We all have things to thank God for, but it can be easy to overlook them and take them for granted if we aren't consciously counting the blessings around us. Take time today to recognise the things in your life and the lives of those around you to show gratitude for.

5. Speak Life, Not Death

With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in God's likeness. Blessing and cursing come out of the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be this way.
– James 3:9-10

When we decide to love and serve Jesus, we are committing to carry His Spirit around with us and that can be seen by others. It is easy to gossip, speak hatred and filthy languages, but we are called to speak life! Let's hold our tongues from any negative speech and replace it with life-giving words.

Maybe you're struggling.

Maybe you have no idea how to "live out your faith".

Maybe you have no idea how to live for Jesus.

Friend, you're not the only one feeling this way! ◡̈ Living for Jesus can be hard, but it is not impossible.
