Article: How To Talk To Your Family About Christ

How To Talk To Your Family About Christ

Sharing the gospel with others can be difficult, and it can be even more difficult when it involves someone with whom we have close emotional ties. The Bible has told us that some people will be offended by the gospel, but we are commanded to share the gospel, and there is no excuse for not doing so (Matthew 28:19-20).

So how do we evangelise to our family members and loved ones apart from praying for them?

1. God can use what you have said to plant seeds in their hearts.

Remember that God can use your words to help your family members and loved ones come to Christ. The growth may not be evident instantly, but He can and will grow the seeds sown in faith!

2. Always show genuine love, no matter what.

Seek to love them as a child/sibling/friend whether or not they respond to the gospel as you would like. God can use your life as a testimony to open their eyes to His Truth. We pray that the Lord will soften their hearts and open their eyes to see all that the Lord has done to transform your life.

3. Be patient.

Remember that saving people is God's job and your job is to rely on Him and to be obedient to the opportunities that He has given you. Love people intentionally and follow the Spirit's leading for an opportunity to share the gospel. We pray for more divine opportunities for you to share Jesus in your day-to-day conversations.
